Send a recorded voice message to your list
Voice SMS delivers a recorded message as an automated call — your voice, not a text, landing on a customer's phone. It's the unit a voice broadcast is built from: record once, reach a list, and see who answered.
What voice SMS is
A voice SMS is a pre-recorded audio message placed as an automated outbound call, sometimes called OBD — outbound dialling. The phone rings, the customer answers, and your message plays in the language and voice you chose: a reminder, an offer, a notice. If it reaches voicemail, the message can be left there or the number retried.
It is the building block of voice broadcasting. One voice SMS is a single call; a broadcast is the same message placed across a whole list at once. The difference is scale, not mechanism — a single reminder and a campaign to a large list use the same recording and the same controls, so what you learn on one carries to the other.
Voice reaches people a text doesn't. A customer who never opens an SMS, or who reads slowly in the language it's written in, still hears a spoken message. For older audiences, rural numbers, and landlines, a recorded call often lands where a text quietly fails.
Every call returns an outcome — answered, voicemail, busy, failed — and any key-presses you invite, so a voice SMS can ask the listener to press a key to confirm or opt out. Promotional voice is scrubbed against the NDNC registry; a service message reaches the customer as a response, the same way a transactional SMS does.

Frequently asked
How is voice SMS different from voice broadcasting?
They're the same mechanism at different scale. A voice SMS is one recorded call; voice broadcasting places that recording across a whole list at once, with the campaign controls — scheduling, retries, reporting — around it. If you're reaching a list, you're broadcasting; if you're placing one call, it's a voice SMS.
What languages can the recording be in?
Hindi, English, and the major regional languages. Send your own audio, or give us the script and we generate the voice in the language you choose, so the same campaign can speak to different regions in their own language and lift response.
Does it reach landlines and feature phones?
Yes. A recorded call rings a landline or a feature phone that can't receive SMS at all, which is part of why voice reaches audiences a text misses. Answer detection still tells you whether a person or a machine picked up.
How is voice SMS priced, and what about NDNC?
Per connected call, with GST shown separately, and rates step down by volume. Promotional voice is scrubbed against the National Do Not Call registry unless the customer consented; transactional and service calls reach the customer as a response. See the pricing page.
