Anti-spam policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
SMSAPI exists to deliver messages people have agreed to receive. Unsolicited messaging — spam — hurts recipients, our sender reputation, and every compliant customer on the network, so we do not allow it.
What we treat as spam
We treat a message as spam if it is any of the following:
- Sent to a recipient who has not given consent to be contacted.
- Sent without valid DLT registration for the entity, header and template.
- Sent to a number registered on NDNC without a qualifying consent or relationship.
- Misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise prohibited by TRAI regulation.
Consent is required
Before you send, you must have consent from each recipient and be able to show it. Consent captured at signup, and honoured opt-outs, are the baseline for every campaign — not an optional extra.
How we enforce this
If we detect or receive a credible report of spam, we may freeze or terminate the account without prior notice to protect recipients and the network. Fees for traffic already sent are not refundable where an account is closed for spamming.
Reporting spam
If you have received a message through us that you believe is spam, report it to support@smsapi.in with the sender header and message details, and we will investigate.
Alignment with TRAI and DLT
This policy sits on top of, and does not replace, your obligations under TRAI's regulations and the DLT framework. Where the regulation is stricter than this policy, the regulation applies.
SMSAPI is the continuation of Priority SMS, by Chandnas IT Consultants. This policy is being finalised for the smsapi.in domain; for any question email support@smsapi.in.
