Send SMS beyond India from the same API

Reach customers outside India on the same HTTP call you already use. Change the destination to its country code and we route to that country's operators, handle the local sender-ID rules, and show the per-country rate before the message sends.

One integration, many countries

International SMS uses the same endpoint as domestic. You set the destination number in E.164 with its country code, and we route it to that country's operators. There is no second integration to build — the request shape is identical, and the difference is the number and the rate.

Sender-ID rules differ by country. Some allow an alphanumeric header, some require a numeric long code, and some need the sender registered in advance. We handle those per-country differences so a message that would be rejected for using the wrong sender type is sent correctly instead.

DLT is an Indian framework and does not apply outside India. Each destination has its own rules — registration, content limits, quiet hours — and pricing varies by country and operator. We surface the per-country rate so a campaign's cost is clear before it sends, rather than after.

Delivery receipts come back the same way, though how much status a country's operators return varies. Unicode is supported throughout, so a message goes out in the local script, and a mixed India-and-abroad footprint runs on one set of credentials.

Frequently asked

Which countries can I send to?

Most countries are reachable through our operator routes. Coverage and the depth of delivery reporting vary by destination, so tell us the countries you need and we'll confirm routing and the per-country rate before you commit. Rather than promise a single global standard, we confirm each market up front, because what an operator returns in one country differs from the next.

Do sender IDs work the same abroad?

Not always. Some countries allow an alphanumeric sender like a brand name, some require a numeric long code, and some need the sender registered first. We handle the per-country rules so your message uses a sender type that country accepts.

Does DLT apply to international SMS?

No. DLT covers SMS to Indian numbers. International messages follow each destination country's own registration, content, and timing rules. We apply the relevant ones per country so a send is compliant where it lands.

How is international SMS priced?

Per message, and the rate varies by country and operator, with GST shown separately. Because rates differ widely between destinations, a campaign to several countries is quoted per country rather than at a single blended rate, so you see exactly what each market costs. We show the per-country rate up front, before a message sends. See the pricing page or talk to our team.
