Get DLT-registered to send SMS in India
Indian SMS needs DLT registration before you can send — a principal entity, your sender headers, and every message template. We do the header and template registration with you and validate it on every send, so you go live in days rather than weeks of portal back-and-forth.
We handle the registration with you
DLT registration has four parts: the principal entity, the sender headers, the content templates, and the category each template belongs to. The principal entity is yours to register because it is tied to your business identity, so we walk you through the documents it needs, then submit the headers and templates on your behalf.
The category decides reach. Transactional and service templates reach any number at any hour; promotional ones respect DND and permitted hours. Getting the category right at registration is what avoids scrubbed traffic later, so we classify each template with you before it goes in rather than after a rejection.
On every send we pass and validate your principal entity ID and the template ID, so a mismatch fails fast with a clear error instead of being accepted and then scrubbed by the operator. That fail-fast behaviour is the difference between a rejected API call that costs nothing and a scrubbed message you have already paid for.
Most registrations clear in days when the documents match across PAN, GST, and the application, and we draft headers and templates to pass on the first pass. The full process, including template categories and common rejections, is in our DLT guide.

Frequently asked
How long does DLT registration take?
Principal entity registration is often approved within a day or two once your documents are in order, and header and template approvals are usually faster. The common cause of delay is a template whose category or wording doesn't match its content — we draft to avoid that.
What documents do I need?
Typically your PAN, GST registration, and a letter of authorisation, with details that match across all of them. Mismatches between the PAN, the GST record, and the application are a common reason an entity registration is sent back, so we check them before submission.
Do I register, or do you?
You own the principal entity registration because it's tied to your business identity. We handle the header and template registration with you, validate your IDs on every send, and tell you up front what the entity registration needs so nothing stalls.
Does DLT apply to WhatsApp and international SMS?
No. DLT covers SMS and voice to Indian numbers. WhatsApp follows Meta's template approval and opt-in, and international SMS follows each destination country's own rules. We keep consent consistent across whichever channels you use.
